Progressbar Whisper

Progressbar Whisper is the fourteenth version of Progressbar in the Progress Computer lineup. It is based on Windows Whistler, the project which later became Windows XP.

Unlike most systems such as BarOS or 8-BIT, the order of beta systems in the upgrading sequence is different. Because this system was released in the game timeline after Progressbar Largehorn, you can only install it after unlocking Progressbar Largehorn and then gaining 2500000 points, not after Nepbar or Chitown.

Trivia[]

  • There used to be a startup sound hidden in the game files, which is a mix of Progressbar XB and 2000's Startup sounds. It was later removed from the files in 0.8050.

  • This system has the same desaturation effect while opening the shutdown menu which was used in Progressbar XB.
  • Despite Windows Whistler having a logon screen, this system does not have it.
  • Progressbar Whisper resembles builds 2267.idx01.000910-1316 to build 2419.idx02.010115-1412.
  • The icons and setup backgrounds of this system closely resemble Windows Whistler build 2250's.
    • The icons were based on the Control Panel icons from the same build.
  • Before 0.5410, when you got the Grand badge on Progressbar Whisper, the text below "Whisper" in the logo shows "Master".
  • Wallpaper 10 of this system isn't based on an actual wallpaper from Windows Whistler, but rather a picture taken from the video "Whistler logo animation with music sample" at the timestamp 0:11.[1]
